The first time I saw this pattern on the Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial, I just knew I had to make this quilt! The main fabric was a charm square pack of Palindromes–I like this fabric so much I may use it in another quilt. I matched it with the black prints from Muslim Mates. The back is a fun fabric I picked up at a sale somewhere and seemed the perfect match for this fun quilt. I quilted on my machine with free-motion quilting in a large stipple pattern. There is a special little boy who is going to love this quilt!
This charming baby quilt was made for our niece Kelly. I had fallen in love with the fabrics (fat quarter’s, I believe), but I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. A dear friend who is a marvelous quilter helped me design and piece the quilt. I came up with the bees & peas quilting pattern and quilted it on my machine. It was my first attempt at adding a little free-motion quilting–I love the whimsy!
This fun quilt was made for the first grandbaby of some dear friends of mine. It’s astounding to realize that we’ve known these friends for so many years. And now their baby girl has grown and has a little girl of her very own.
These blocks were two-rail blocks that I started years ago. I loved the colors and the blocks, but I could never come up with a pattern I liked. So I finally decided to take a new approach–I put the blocks together in a pinwheel pattern and focused on the quilting! This was my first attempt at free-hand machine quilting, so I started with a basic lollipop pattern. I loved how it turn out and that it will be a blankie for a special little girl.
