Mt. Capulin, New Mexico

Mt. Capulin is a dormant (or is it extinct?) volcano in northeastern New Mexico. You can see it for miles from the flat NM prairies. From a high place (like the top of Mt. Capulin), you can see other volcanoes in the distance–this region was obviously very active at one time. If you are lucky, you may see herds of antelopes grazing nearby.
